Novel Conversations
"Never Let Me Go" by Kazuo Ishiguro
Thursday, October 15
6:00pm - 7:00pm
Coralville Public Library
Board RoomNovel Conversations is a book group that alternates between classic novels and more recent works of fiction and nonfiction. In October we will be discussing "Never Let Me Go" by Kazuo Ishiguro.
Author of the acclaimed novels The Remains of the Day and Klara and the Sun, Ishiguro tells a story set in late 1990s England, in a parallel universe in which humans are cloned and raised expressly to "donate" their healthy organs and thus eradicate disease from the normal population. This is an epic ethical horror story, told in devastatingly poignant miniature.
Participants are welcome to come to all the meetings or just those that sound interesting. Multiple copies of each book are available for checkout in the library and are, whenever possible, made available in large print, audiobook, and ebook editions.
Novel Conversations meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm in the Board Room.
