In the teen program, we will be discussing online safety and learning why it’s important to keep private information private and not allow someone we don’t know on our sites, both social media and gaming. We will talk about how to recognize online predators, talk about online and in-person exploitation and sexual exploitation. Sexting or sending “nudes” and the consequences of both sending and receiving will also be covered along with what to do if you are a victim of these activities. The issue of “sextortion” and how teen suicide is sadly becoming a result of this will be addressed.
