Novel Conversations
"James" by Percival Everett
Thursday, June 18
6:00pm - 7:00pm
Coralville Public Library
Board RoomNovel Conversations is a book group that alternates between classic novels and more recent works of fiction and nonfiction. Join us in June for a discussion of "James" by Percival Everett.
This is a brilliant, action-packed reimagining of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, both harrowing and ferociously funny, told from the enslaved Jim's point of view. Author Ann Patchett says: “James is funny and horrifying, brilliant and riveting…who should read this book? Every single person in the country.”
Participants are welcome to come to all the meetings or just those that sound interesting. Multiple copies of each book are available for checkout in the library and are, whenever possible, made available in large print, audiobook, and ebook editions.
Novel Conversations meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm in the Board Room.
