Novel Conversations is a book group that alternates between classic novels and more recent works of fiction and nonfiction.
Participants are welcome to come to all the meetings or just those that sound interesting. Multiple copies of each book are available for checkout in the library and are, whenever possible, made available in large print, audiobook, and ebook editions.
Novel Conversations meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm in the Board Room and on Zoom. Email Mike Jorgensen for the Zoom link.
Join Novel Conversations in October for a discussion of "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley.
“O brave new world, that has such people in ‘t,” Shakespeare said in The Tempest. Published in 1932, Huxley’s version of a brave new world is his dystopian novel set in a future World State, where citizens are engineered into an intelligence-based social hierarchy. Much of the novel presents prescient thoughts still relevant today, almost a century later.
