"We'll Prescribe You a Cat" by Syou Ishida

Novel Conversations is a book group that alternates between classic novels and more recent works of fiction and nonfiction. In February we're discussing "We'll Prescribe You a Cat".

In an off beaten part of Kyoto there exists the Kokoro Clinic for the Soul, which can only be found by people who are struggling in their lives and are in genuine need of help. Those in need are prescribed cats. Often puzzled at first, patients find themselves profoundly changed by the playful, occasionally challenging, yet endearing cats.

Participants are welcome to come to all the meetings or just those that sound interesting.  Multiple copies of each book are available for checkout in the library and are, whenever possible, made available in large print, audiobook, and ebook editions.
