Free film Screening and Q&A with the producer Douglas Burns and The Negro Artist Caleb Rainey.
The Negro Artist is a journey into the world of Caleb Rainey, a Black spoken word poet professionally known as The Negro Artist. Rainey’s poetry is a profound exploration of race, identity, and the lived realities of systemic inequality. As part of the film experience, Rainey will perform live poetry. Following the film screening and performances, audiences can engage in an interactive Q&A with the film's producer Douglas Burns* and Caleb Rainey, exploring their personal and artistic journeys in depth.
This free film screening, sponsored by the Friends of the Coralville Public Library, will be on the big screen at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts across the parking lot from the Library.
*The director Nik Heftman will not be at this screening as planned. The film's producer Douglas Burns will be joining us for the Q&A.
