Join us for this free event where we learn how to be prepared for disasters. We will learn to organize important documents, connect to local resources, and create a go-bag emergency kit to bring home.
At 12:00 PM, Disaster Prepwise AmeriCorp will give a short presentation on how to prepare your family and home for disasters where you may need to leave your home quickly. This should last for about 30 minutes. There will be time for a Q & A after. When the presentation is complete, audience members and the general public can go to Meeting Rooms A & B for a fair where supplies and informational materials will be given away by local social and emergency service organizations in our area. With these free materials, you can begin to build your own "Emergency Go-Bag" to have ready for emergencies. This event is created in partnership with the Coralville Public Library, Neighborhood Centers of Johnson County, and United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties. The fair is open to all, and you can come and go as you wish.
